I love photographing weddings of people I consider friends. Steve is the brother of my sister-in-law and happens to be one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. . One day I got a message in my inbox saying he was getting engaged, that he wanted to book me but I couldn’t tell anyone. Done and done! I could tell by his messages that he was so stoked…obviously the guy’s going to be happy but still, he was over the top even for his standards, which is saying A LOT. When he finally got back to Canada (he plays pro basketball in Germany) and proposed to Ellen we went out and had an awesome 3 hour engagement shoot. Their wedding at Bear Creek Park in Surrey a few months later was one of the most enjoyable days of my summer. They handled the glitches like pro’s, rolled with a GREAT bridal party and finished the night with the best first dance I’ve ever witnessed.
